Mammy never really got lost in the fog

She felt safe because you were there.

She knew you

She loved you

She was your other half.

ALWAYS.

you maintained her care

her dignity

you allowed her maintain so much of life

you were her “big bluff”

her i am fine

you maintained that for mammy for so long.

nobody else could have.

you tolerated the moods and learned to cheer them up

when mammy looked lonely you’d whistle and get a smile

she was happy daddy

this disease robbed her day by day from in front of us

but you were her guide

her constancy

and you did it with love

with selfless love

you spared mammy the isolation the disease brings so many

will never be able to explain how much that meant to mammy

but will never be able to say how much it meant to…
